Audits
The protocol for inspections is the same from one
facility to another. They can help with compliance,
can be used as an
educational tool as well. These are the basic steps:
-
The consultant introduces
him or herself to the contact person at the facility.
-
The consultant checks the
available documentation in the office. This includes previous regulatory
audits, pest control records, and cleaning schedules.
-
Then the consultant inspects the facility. The
consultant uses both the guidelines given by the company and industry
standards.
-
At the end of the inspection, the consultant
has a closing conference with management and other appropriate personnel.
-
The consultant discusses the findings and
offers suggestions and advice in those areas that need correction or
improvement.
-
The consultant will use the notes taken during
the inspection and exit interview to write a report.
-
The report is sent to the appropriate person
or individuals within three weeks.
